A VERY NICE HALF POLISHED PETOSKEY STONE
Fossil Coral.
MICHIGAN'S STATE STONE.
We polished the top of this stone and left the bottom natural.
That way you can see the before and after effect.
This is a very showy stone. Nice "eyes" and a nice shape.
Not often you see one this size and quality.
SIZE - 8" wide, 4" high, and 6" deep.
Weight -6-1/3#
Quality - Excellent. Does have a few hair line cracks, but this is common for a stone this size.
Each piece of jewelry is unique as no one stone is alike. The Petoskey stone is the Michigan State stone and is a Fossilized Colony Coral. The Coral is a "Hexagonaria", which stems from its hexagon shape.
