Artist's story behind the creation of the piece:
I was working on this piece of sculpture with the idea in mind of someone breaking free. Normally when I start a piece in the clay, I begin with the basic design in anatomy then discover whatever else might be in the piece. This one however was special in that when the figure was partially done, I looked at it on the work table and felt the Lord say, "This is the church-the lukewarm church." I felt shocked and a little bit intimidated that it was such a strong word. The figure is not attractive at all, not in or out, neither hot nor cold. He is bound but doesn't even realize it becuase he has never really moved his arm. It represents a pathetic situation that waits to be spewed from the Lord's mouth.
About the print:
This is an 10x15 gallery mounted print. This exclusive gallery mount is a modern and cost-effective way to present the image as a finished piece and display it without the additional time and cost of traditional framing and matting. This state-of-the-art presentation begins with the photographed image being printed on professional Kodak metallic paper. A machine texture known as pebble is added to print for a deeper texture. The print is then completely sealed with a durable, transparent semi-gloss laminate, then heat-fused to a 3/8" densely engineered substrate. Providing a classic look, each flush edge is then finished with black bevel and edge color and heat-fused. The print comes ready to hang with a pre-drilled key-hole opening requiring only a #10 round-headed or panhead screw.
Also included is the artist's story behind the creation of the piece as described above. This can be framed & mounted with the print at the discretion of the customer.
