Cactus in a pot - oils

Cactus in a pot, was my first attempt at painting in oils. The background draws your eye around and through the painting where a dark abstract cactus is flowing out of its pot. Have used the paint in layers on the cactus to give it that textured feeling and it does seem to pop out of the painting when you seeit close up.

Oils painted on artist canvas board 40 cm x 50 cm - the only painting i will ever do in oils, i preferred acrylic.
