Judy and Bob Bernhardt

Artist Biography:
We have put both our names on this as we have been a partnership since the early 1960's. We have been working with Petoskey stone since that time. Since we have expanded and work with many different variety of stones, just polishing them, or cutting and polishing them and making them into jewelry. We hope to expand on this by putting them out there in the art and crafts world. In recent years, I (Judy) have taken up my true love of watercolor and mixed media painting. There is nothing like watching a watercolor painting come to life right before your eyes. I have studied for a number of years under Helga Flower of Sault Ste. Marie, Cheng-Khee Chee of Minnesota and Cathy Carey from Petoskey, Michigan. Among other things, I love to do beading and make different jewelry items. I have just recently studied under Sandy Cline and learned how to do some soapstone carvings. I have done some Petoskey stone carvings over the years. Since studying with him, I hope to expand on that. My husband and I lived for 40 years in Harbor Springs, Michigan, where we had a shop for a number of years. We moved to the wonderful Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 2001 and have a little shop in the quaint little town of Trout Lake, Michigan. You can find all the things that we enjoy doing there.
