Artist Biography:
When I was very small, my mother and two friends started their own business sewing custom doll clothes. I would sit for hours watching her sew beautiful dresses ordered by their customers. This was my first introduction to the world of creativity made possible by an interest and love of sewing and crafts. My father also enjoyed knitting and cross-stitch. In fact, he was much better at it than I was!
I began doing crafts myself in high school, focusing primarily on sewing stuffed animals and cross-stitch. I grew from there, eventually owning my own quilting and craft store, and teaching a wide variety of fabric crafts at the store.
I continued to expand my interests, doing stained glass, more quilting and bunches of cross-stitch. I will be learning to use a loom next year and I'm looking forward to that. There's not much that I'm not interested in trying in the arts and crafts arena.
