Artist Biography:
As odd as it sounds, I have never been an artist that is able to fill a journal or sketchbook. I have, however, become an artist that is able to make the journals and sketchbooks for the writers and visual artists that are pieces of art in themselves. I have been binding books by hand since 2002, but I have really taken it seriously and perfected my art in the past 2 years. In 2007, I placed Best in Show at Muskegon's Art In The Park juried art fair and placed 3rd in the same show in 2006. I make all my books by hand and unless described otherwise all of them are one of a kind and never repeated. I tear the pages to size from large sheets (all papers I use are archival quality and support many art mediums), the spines are stitched by hand using linen threads and details, and the covers are built and designed to each books specifications. The endsheets used in my books are part of the detail and design in my bindings as well. Please feel free to contact me for additional photos if needed, as many details of my designs are best seen in multiple photographs. I also do custom orders so please contact me if you have a special need in mind. My books are only limited to your imagination. All of my book descriptions include the mediums best used on its pages. I hope to inspire YOU to create with paper, thought, paint or the written word on the bound pages I have created.
